Hello visitor! Thank you for taking the time to read this article.
If you suffer from a nail fungus, you are probably trying to find a decent product that works to clear it up as soon as possible. Symptoms of nail fungus include yellowing of the nail, and a thickening. It might also have an unpleasant odor. You can become affected by a nail fungus if you spend time in damp places like a gym, pool or spa. Athlete's and people who wear tight fitting shoes are at an extra risk for developing a nail fungus. To avoid this , make sure you thoroughly dry your feet.
There are several home remedies rumored to help rid your nail's of fungus, although many are not proven to be effective.
One such home remedy is soaking the affected foot in Listerine mouth wash. It's stated that you are suppose to do this at least twice a day, for approximately five minutes each time, then make sure you dry your toes completely.
The most well-known useful cure for fungus nails is vinegar. The use of vinegar has been proven effective because fungi cannot take sudden change in pH and they can easily die when exposed to vinegar's acidity. The toes should be soaked in vinegar for 25 minutes. This is best done once a week because fungi usually regrow. Clipping the nails can be difficult to do when you have fungus in it but you do it with ease after soaking it in vinegar. Regular clipping and filing can help regain the smoothness of the nails. After bathing, it is also advisable to apply vinegar by cotton swab or using a dropper. Remember to let it dry. In addition, vinegar can also stop the itch caused by athlete's foot.
You are suppose to mix vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda together to make a paste that you apply to the affected toe nail. Leave on for approximately 10 minutes, then dry thoroughly with a clean towel or cloth.
Another home remedy that some use, is to wash their feet in an anti-bacterial soap, then dry. After drying, apply tea tree oil to the affected toes. Wear socks overnight with the tea tree oil in place, then rinse and dry in the morning.
One last home remedy is to use Isopropyl Alcohol, by rubbing it in where the nail shows signs of fungus. It's said to take a few days of doing this before you notice any change.
Keep in mind that the above home remedies are not proven to cure nail fungus, and shouldn't be used if you have allergies, etc., to any of the listed ingredients.
